JVP Statement Opposing Bigotry in All Forms

Jewish Voice for Peace is proud to be part of a worldwide movement dedicated to the freedom, human rights and equality of all the people of Israel and Palestine.  We are committed to struggling, along with all our allies, to build this movement on the basis of truth, accountability, and respect for the human rights and dignity of all peoples. To that end, it is incumbent upon all of us to vehemently denounce all forms of bigotry, including anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim hatred, and anti-Arab racism.

We affirm the declaration made by Palestinian leaders that an “ethical struggle for justice and equal rights in any context entails zero tolerance for racial discrimination and racism anywhere.”  

Jewish Voice for Peace further reaffirms our commitment to defending critics of discriminatory and repressive Israeli policies from false charges of anti-Semitism. We will also continue to act as supportive allies to Arab, Muslim and Palestinian communities targeted for hatred, even more so when that hate is deliberately fueled by those who believe that doing so strengthens Israel.

The alternative—remaining silent when confronted with bigoted actions—weakens the movement for Palestinian justice and recreates precisely the conditions we seek to end. As a movement of people of all colors, faiths and identities, we must continue to stand up for one another and act now to create the future of equality and dignity we want for the generations to come.
