What is happening?
The Presbyterian Church (USA) or PC(USA) will hold its biennial meeting in Detroit June 14-21. Among a number of overtures promoting justice and peace, the church will vote on whether it should divest from three companies that profit from the Israeli occupation. The vote will be cast by 654 commissioners and with the advice of 219 delegates.

As Palestinians mark 47 years of Israel’s military occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, human rights groups are accusing NBC of complicity in Israel’s violations of international law and human rights by filming its new series DIG in occupied East Jerusalem, after clearly stating that they would not do so.

Israel always approached the peace talks as an opportunity to further entrench its power and control over Palestinian people, by continuing to build settlements and continuing the violent repression inherent in military occupation throughout this round and all previous rounds of talks.
