SAN FRANCISCO, CA - 08/15/12) Today, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), the Asian Law Caucus (ALC), the San Francisco Bay Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA) and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) cautiously welcomed a response issued by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) in response to anti-Palestinian and Islamophobic advertisements running on San Francisco buses. The groups have been working on a community assessment and response to the ads since complaints of them were first received last week.

Jewish Voice for Peace fully endorses the campaign by American Muslim for Palestine

Jewish Voice for Peace is deeply saddened by the recent news of a bus explosion in Bulgaria, which has caused the death of at least seven Israeli tourists and the injury of many others. As of the writing of this statement no one has claimed responsibility for what the Bulgarian Interior Ministry described as a terrorist attack.

From a US embassy employee asking someone's religion as a basis of providing help, to the threat of demolition facing a Palestinian village, racial profiling has pernicious effects.  Please help us get 18,000 signatures on a petition to the US State Department, opposing racial and ethnic profiling.
