Jewish Voice for Peace is deeply saddened by the recent news of a bus explosion in Bulgaria, which has caused the death of at least seven Israeli tourists and the injury of many others. As of the writing of this statement no one has claimed responsibility for what the Bulgarian Interior Ministry described as a terrorist attack.

From a US embassy employee asking someone's religion as a basis of providing help, to the threat of demolition facing a Palestinian village, racial profiling has pernicious effects. JVP takes a strong stand against bigotry in any form, whether it be anti-Arab, anti-Muslim, or anti-Jewish. We do not work with anyone who uses oppressive language, imagery or those who attempt to demonize any group of people by ethnicity, religion or race.

At an anti-war demonstration in Chicago on October 8, an
individual with whom JVP-Chicago has no connection distributed a
self-produced inflammatory leaflet falsely attributed to JVP-Chicago.
No one from JVP-Chicago helped produce or distribute this flier. In an
