SAVE THE DATE: Justice in Palestine & Israel - Interfaith Communities Working Together for a Just Peace
Thursday, May 1, from 7 -9 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Oakland. Details to follow.
JVP's 4th Annual Passover Liberation Seder!
Join us in honoring Jewish tradition by renewing our commitment to justice in Israel/Palestine. We connect our historical Pesach ritual of freedom from bondage to the struggles of the Palestinian people today. This year we also honor the struggles of 60,000 African Asylum seekers in Israel who, like our ancestors, escaped across the Sinai looking for freedom but who now languish in Israel, stripped of their human rights.
We are privileged to be joined by members of Da’Ero Bay Area (http://Daerobayarea.org), an Eritrean rights organization.
As we grapple with these realities, let us truly live the lessons of Passover by joining together to sustain ourselves for another year of struggle towards liberation.
Any JVP member or guest who wants to celebrate Jewish tradition in the context of liberation & justice is welcome to bring a very short, relevant written offering to share.
