Jewish Voice for Peace is outraged at U.S. President Trump’s announcement of the U.S. withdrawal from its nuclear agreement with Iran. This decision, made in close coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, is short-sighted and hawkish. It will only continue to put the U.S. and Israel at odds with the international community, and increases the chances that the U.S., and perhaps Israel, could be headed to war. On the eve of the U.S. moving its embassy to Jerusalem, this is yet another alarming instance where the U.S. and Israel stand virtually alone.

Rabbi Joseph Berman, JVP’s Government Affair Liaison said:
“Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran Deal is disastrous. The Iran Deal was a huge victory for diplomacy over war, and showed what grassroots pressure can accomplish. We are ready to fight this decision any way we can – and we will do everything in our power to keep the United States from going to war.”
