JVP Calls on Recording Academy to Drop its Partnership with the Black-Jewish Entertainment Alliance.

Jewish Voice for Peace condemns the latest attempt by anti-Palestinian lobby groups StandWithUs and Creative Community for Peace (CCFP) to hide their racist, right-wing agendas through yet another front organization, this time the Black-Jewish Entertainment Alliance. 

BJEA and groups like StandWithUs and CCFP are attempting to undermine the long-standing solidarity between Black Americans and Palestinians. Not only have they employed staff who are anti-Palestinian, but their staff have also shared shocking anti-Black views online, including mocking George Floyd and trolling the Movement for Black Lives.

Instead of dismantling racism and antisemitism, BJEA is actively deceiving Black and Jewish entertainers into supporting the silencing and censoring of Palestinians and those who oppose Israeli apartheid. BJEA, StandWithUs and CCFP do not represent the Jewish community. Hundreds of thousands of us proudly stand with Palestinians in their struggle for freedom, dignity and equality in their own homeland, and that number is growing every day. 

The world needs to know: the Black-Jewish Entertainment Alliance is pushing a racist, right-wing agenda that must be rejected and resisted. Fighting anti-Black racism, antisemitism, and Israeli apartheid go hand in hand.
