Jewish Voice for Peace grieves the recent loss of Jewish and Palestinian life in the Occupied West Bank. Violence against civilians, no matter where they reside, is never acceptable.

Rather than address the root causes of violence – occupation and military rule –  the Israeli government has once again imposed collective punishment on the people of Ramallah and in villages and refugee camps throughout the West Bank. The entrance of the Israeli Army into the region, which included locking down entire communities, destroying homes, and terrorizing families, is a violation of the rights of every single person who lives there.

Jewish Voice for Peace works towards freedom, equality and security for everyone in Palestine/Israel. The takeover of Ramallah and environs by the Israeli Army reminds us of the deep power imbalance between occupier and occupied. We know justice is impossible unless this imbalance is addressed.
