In the days since the murder of Michael Brown, a young, unarmed African-American man who was shot and killed by a police officer, the eyes of the world have turned to the city of Ferguson. The community has risen up in the face of brutal repression to protest the racism and injustice African-American communities throughout the US face from centuries-old, systematic, and increasingly militarized police violence.

Call in to the offices the Senators' now. Tell them you are disappointed with their support for Senate Resolution 498, which means sending further arms to Israel, and demand that the Senators support a full, independent investigation into Operation Protective Edge.

In these terrible days, JVP is heartened to see the massive growth in the global movement to demand justice for Palestinians and an end to Israel’s current assault, which has now left over 600 Palestinians dead, including 100 children. As a part of this movement, we affirm the values we see reflected in the vast majority of our allies and partners to building a multiracial, interfaith movement that is strongly committed to realizing justice, equality, and safety for all people.

Jewish activists arrested in civil disobedience action at Friends of the IDF offices in NYC protesting the assault on Gaza
Nine demonstrators were arrested today shortly after noon at the office of the Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces (FIDF) on Broadway and 40th. More than two dozen protestors stood with them in solidarity in front of the building and several lay in the street with makeshift shrouds as a “die-in.”
